halloween by an uncreative mother

l* may have an uncreative mother, but he was happy to be a "football guy" for halloween. not sure if he was a dressed-down player or just a fanatic fan. either way, he got to carry the "hikeball" and loved it.

i promise i'll think of something better for next year.

we did a slight variation for the ward Halloween party, and leo was an "exercise guy". with earbuds and everything.

okay, seriously - i'll try harder next year. they should, like, schedule this halloween thing or something so i can prepare. or something.

where the ladies?

l* was getting ready for church on sunday and we put gel in his hair, he had his new tie on from grandma, and we even spritzed some of daddy's cologne.

i told him, "the ladies are you going to love you!"

he smiled and thought for a minute, then replied "where the ladies go?"

indeed, son.

he then followed up with, "i don't want the ladies."

i assured him that he could push them away.

my dear boy

the other night l* was sitting in my lap and drinking his milk ... i whispered in his ear, "you are a dear boy" and he shook his head, "no".

i said it again, "you are a dear boy" and he shook his head, "no," again. 

i asked, "you're not a dear boy?" and then i said, "you're my dear boy" and he nodded.

then he took his bottle out of his mouth and said, "not regular dear boy". i nodded.

he put his bottle back in his mouth and was content.

l* offered me a grape the other night. he picked it up and reached it toward my mouth. i said, "no thank you" but he was insistent and pushed it to my lips. i said, "no thank you" again. he didn't let that deter him ... he pushed it again to my lips and said "you're welcome!" with that, i opened my mouth.
